FOUNDERS OF MUSUBI MAP CONT. TO BRIDGE THE GAP BETWEEN CA & HI

San Diego, CA (December 2011) – Nino “neens” Camilo’s business is keeping California connected to Hawaii.  Born and raised on the mainland (San Diego), Neens saw what he calls the “Hawaii Lovers Market” develop right before his eyes.   Two years ago, Neens noticed the need for these Hawaii Lovers to have a little guidance on where to buy Hawaiian related goods, where to learn the hula and where to find the best poke.   Within just 24 months, the Musubi Map (Your Guide to HI in CA) is now in it’s eighth issue, three I Love Poke Festivals have been held, and his blogsite ilovemusubi.com is frequented by those looking for “Hawaii” on the mainland.  So, what’s next?

Neens gave a call to friend and owner of CUPS Organic, Michelle Lerach, and pitched the idea of hosting Hawaiian cooking classes at the CUPS Culinary facility, located in the back of her bakery. Ironically enough, Michelle, a Hawaii Lover herself, was on Kauai at the time of the call!  Needless to say, he had her at “Aloha”.

Neens loves to cook, and loves to talk, but he is no chef.  So to fill the void he called on his good friend and business partner, Chef Sumo Sato.  Sumo, born and raised in Hawaii is an amazing cook and has recipes for days.  From making shave ice for 15 years growing up, to catering and owning his own restaurants, Chef Sumo is experienced and has the beard to show it.  Together Neens and Sumo will put on an educational, entertaining and onolicious Hawaiian Kine Cooking Class.  Registration for Jan, Feb, and March classes available now.

There’s a lot of Musubi fans out there.  Here’s a PRE-Xmas gift for the spam, rice and nori lover in your life.  As far as we know, you can get them in Encinitas at Bliss 101 if you live in the SD area, or you can buy them online at Island Heritage.  (If you live in Hawaii, I’m sure you can just get them anywhere.)

I don’t know what kinds of oil they mix up in here, but this thing works, so when you give this as a gift, it actually gives back to you because you no longer need to smell the doots odor (poop odor) of who you give this too.  All you need to doo is drop a few drops of this liquid in the toilet before you do yo biz (take a crap), and in some miracle way, the smell will be masked.  This works for MOST digestive systems, but some guys (and gals) are just crazy nasty.  Oh well.  You can get these at Asian markets like Marukai or other random Japanese kine shops.  I’ve also seen them online like here: http://www.amazon.com/Kobayashi-10068105-One-Drop-Powerful-Deodorizer/dp/B000XCKMAI Yes, there are others, but I haven’t tried the others.
